What is PLEX Media Server?

Ok, so I wanted a safe and reliable solution to store my Plex media library. If you are not familiar with Plex, it is a streaming app that users can host on their own machines. It has apps for all major platforms and operating systems, Windows, MacOS, and Linux. Plex catalogs your library into an easy to use gui. Download and install the companion app for your client machines, tablets, or smartphones. Create a free Plex account, configure your router/firewall to forward the nessessary port to your Plex host machine, and that's it. You can watch your library from anywhere. Plex will serve out multiple streams over your LAN or the internet capped only by the limitations of the host machine's hardware. Best of all, for LAN only connections, it's totally free!

Ok so now that you know what Plex is, on to the build...
